Military Career:
He started his military career with the Third Punic War, he was a military tribune appointed to his brother in law, Scipio Aemilianus. He was known for his bravery and discipline. He was appointed quaestor to counsel Gais Hostillis Mancunis during the Numanite War, the war was unsuccessful. Gais army suffered many defeats and Gais tried to destroy the camp but was caught and he was forced to make a peace treaty. Tiberius as the quaestor made the peace treaty with the Numantines which saved a lot of soldiers life's. After the event people in Rome got stirred up, many of Tiberius's opponents argued that the peace treaty made Rome look weak and losers of the war. The people in Rome voted they should send Mancunis in chains to the Numantines. They refused him as a prisoner, but after this it was Tiberius journey to his end.
Political life:
Tiberuis's political life started 137 B.C. as he was the quaestor of Spain. While in Spain he started to hate the senate of Rome. He disliked how the senate doesn't help the poor or the homeless. Rome went to war a lot and farmers had to be soldiers, wifes and children couldn't afford their farms and the land went back to the government. Tiberuis made a new law which was going to change land problems, slave rebellions, and Economic crisis. This law was called the Lex Sempronia Agraria.

This was Tiberius Gracchus proposing the Lex Sempronia Agraria to Rome.
Last achievement, Lex Sempronia:
Tiberius began working to improve the poor. He met with three prominent leaders, Crassus the Pontifex Maximus, Publius Mucius Scaevola the consul and jurist, and Appius Claudius. They were going to make a law which states that if a man has more land than he needs it should be given to the poor. The senate rejected the idea because they thought he just wanted to be wealthy. He tried again and let each person to have 30 iugera (acres) plot lands, the senate was strongly against this. Tiberius had to get this pass by the Tribunes, the senate persuaded Marcus Octavius (another tribune) to veto against the law before it goes to the assembly. Tiberius founded out and told the Tribunes that Octavius should be deposed since he was following orders from the senate. Eventfully the law got pass and Tiberius was known as a hero to the poor. The senate wasn't going to let this go.

This picture was when the Senate killed Tiberius.
Death:
After the events of Numantine War and the Lex Sempronia, the Senate of Rome decided to silence Tiberius. They invited him to talk to them about the new laws and changes that were suppose to happen. Tiberius entered the palace and each member of the senate pulled out stones and staves and attacked Tiberius. He was killed in 133 BC and his body was dumped into the Tiber. His brother Gaius was scared and tried to flee but was also killed. After the deaths of the Gracchus brothers, a civil war broke out in Rome. People still worship them and made statues of them around Rome.

A coin of Tiberius Gracchus after he was killed.
My opinion:
I believe that Tiberius Gracchus was a good person around the time in Rome. He saved many soldiers life's during the Numantine War. I think any person who saves a persons life is good. I don't really care much about politics, but Tiberius seemed a good politician. I bet he would be good in today's politics. Tiberius when he tried to help the poor people own land. The rich in Rome really didn't deserve anything they had. Some rich people helped out the poor but most of them didn't. I mean what kind of government doesn't care for their own citizens? When Tiberius helps out the poor they murder him so they don't have to give any land or money to the poor. The Senate people really have cold hearts. I feel if the Senate didn't murder Tiberius would had made changes in Rome140. But since we live off on many laws and stuff we borrowed from the Romans. At least we don't have a Senate that only cares for their selves. But if it did and we had Tiberius Gracchus here he would defend the poor or the people that can't do much against the government. Anyhow this is what I think about the Senate and Tiberius Gracchus
